International software support by night, asleep by day.  This setup is just peachy until the weekend comes.  Fast forward to me sitting on the couch watching an entire season of  Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries  in one weekend.  Sure, Netflix bingeing is great, but one can only watch so much TV before self-loathing and Cheetos erode self respect.  Trust me.  I think I’m the only person in the world who has watched every BBC murder mystery series there is.  Now what to do at 3:00 in the morning?

Besides watching hours upon hours of weird-looking British people murder each other in gross and bizarre circumstances, I also enjoy cooking.  I mean, I really enjoy it.  My husband has come to bed many-a-time to find a couple of cookbooks left on his side of the bed.  You should know one thing about me and cooking – I’m a perfectionist.  I didn’t go to culinary school, and I am painfully aware of everything that I do not know.  And I want to know everything.  This isn’t humanly possible, but I’m going to try anyway.

I will be honest with you and say that not all these recipes are mine.  I will give credit to those who have inspired me.  No one has ever learned to cook in a vacuum.

You’ll see my failures, my successes and everything in between.  My apologies up front if I get a bit curse-y.  It’s go time…Alais Selfie
